Hunter Valley Directory
The Hunter Valley is one of the most established wine growing regions in Australia with over 90 wineries and vineyards in the Lower Hunter alone. Offering a fantastic variety of restaurants, shops and attractions the Hunter Valley extends from the Goulburn River in the south to the beautiful Barrington Tops National Park to the North.
Newcastle is the largest city within the Hunter Valley and is often considered to be as big or small as you make it and where natural beauty meets cosmopolitan lifestyle.
During summer its sandy beaches and relaxed culture really come alive. The many beaches within Newcastle like Merewether beach, Nobbys Beach and Newcastle beach are the place to be when the weather is warm, playing host to major surfing events each year.
The area inland from Newcastle along the Hunter River and including the cities of Cessnock, Pokolbin, Rothbury and Lovedale is the Hunter Valley Wine Country and is home to over 100 wineries. This area has much to offer with world class cellar doors, restaurants, gold courses and a wide variety of standard to luxury accommodation.
